In recent years, there have been many opportunities to interview survivors of sexual violence even in Japan. However, these interviews are typical of trauma reporting, which requires special techniques that are different from those used for interviews with celebrities, companies, organizations, and government offices. It is a prerequisite that the interviewers understand trauma reactions. Therefore, the questions arise: What should the interviewers need to know at the minimum, and how can they better interact with the person (and prevent or mitigate further harm)?<\/p>\n
With the permission of the Dart Center (based at Columbia University, USA), \u201cReporting on Sexual Violence\u201d (Dart Center Europe, 2011), a concise summary of tips, has been translated into Japanese and available on the Dart Center’s website as its Japanese version.<\/p>\n
It was translated by Michiko Kawahara, who is a project professor of the Interfaculty Initiative in Information Studies at the University of Tokyo and a member of the B\u2019AI Global Forum. The translation was based on the discussions at the Trauma Reporting Study Group<\/a>, which is chaired by Kawahara and with the help of various experts.
