On August 4, 2022, the B’AI Global Forum held a talk entitled “Against the ‘New Exploitation’ Caused by Technology: Issues on virtual YouTuber and the ‘Objectification of the Body’” as the fifth installment of the talk series “Inequality, Stereotypes, and Stigma in Leisure.” Mr. Patty Ayukawa from the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology at the University of Tokyo talked about the issues of having a particular body image in VR space, especially gender issues.

On May 21, 2022, some members of the B'AI Global Forum visited the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan) in Tokyo to see the special exhibition “You and Robots: What is it to be Human?”After that, the participants had a discussion about the purpose and intention of the exhibition with the museum's science communicators, together with Prof. Osamu Sakura, a B'AI Global Forum co-investigator of the B’AI Global Forum who supervised the exhibition.

Atsuko Sano, a project researcher of the B’AI Global Forum, introduced the article “Bias on the Web” (2018)” by Ricardo Baeza-Yates, which was published in the journal of Communications of the ACM (Association for Computing Machinery).

On April 27, 2022, BAIRAL invited Mr. Yuji Hatada and Mr. Ryu Kudoh from the Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Information Studies at the University of Tokyo. They introduced the educational materials for a diversity training program using virtual reality (VR), which they are involved in developing, and led a discussion with participants on the uses and limitations of VR technology and the impact of the empathy brought about by VR on people.
Report on a Visit to the Dialogue Diversity Museum “Dialogue Forest (Taiwa no Mori)”

On Wednesday, March 30, 2022, the B'AI Global Forum visited the Dialogue Diversity Museum “Dialogue Forest (Taiwa no Mori),” known as the first museum in Japan where diversity can be entertained as a fun. This report introduces the experiences at “Dialogue in the Dark,” which allows visitors to experience a world in absolute darkness, and “Dialogue in Silence,” which allows visitors to experience a world in complete silence, the lecture by Mr. Shinsuke Shimura, Dialogue in the Dark Japan Founder, and the impressions of the students who participated in this field trip.
